I have been seeing some really cool still image time-lapse movies from Tom Lowe. There have been some really fantastic HD DSLR films using the Canon 7D and Nikon D700.

Last week I was working on a catalog shoot and despite the client’s well-established web presence and huge operation there was no Digital Asset Management system or long term standards for dealing with images. The PhotoShop Web Gallery was good in 2005 but not anymore.
I have been using Lightbox since 2008 and I loved Michael Clark’s new LR book. I just finished it and it’s worth the read, check it out. Anything that isn’t answered in this book you can find on Lynda.com or Kelby Training.com.
The Canon 7D has been rumored for months but was just released officially on Tuesday (9/1/09). I was recently asked by a magazine for a list of 20+ photographers relevant to the industry today and I realized that there were only three woman on my entire list. I’m not a sexist jerk so I though there must be something I was missing. That sparked a conversation with my friend, fellow artist, author and educator, Angela Faris-Belt about Women in Photography and the Shifting Gender Ratio.
After my last post talking about DSLR vs Medium Format I thought I would talk to some of my friends at Fotocare and Digital Transitions about the gear that’s hot right now.
PDN did an article in the Feb 2009 Studio Issue about DSLR vs Medium Format.
I read it over and what the article misses in the minutia of it’s details is the more challenging story, “What is the pro camera now, what will it be in the future?”
